Regaining control over alcohol doesn’t have to be hard…
I know this because as a Cognitive Hypnotherapist & NLP Master Practitioner for nearly 20 years, I’ve consistently enjoyed helping drinkers regain control by re-defining their relationship with Alcohol much more quickly and easily than they expected (and usually within just a small number of sessions).
It doesn’t take long for them to become hopeful and relieved when they experience how they can reclaim their self-control in the way they most want and need; able to enjoy a drink at a much slower pace, able to effortlessly make one or two drinks last an evening, and happy to switch to non-alcoholic drinks as needed. My clients are able to find themselves no longer focused on having that drink, but more instinctively relaxed in themselves and able to feel naturally at ease in their environment, where-ever they are.
Having control over their choices and control over their behaviours, much more easily than expected…
In the past, ‘Alcoholism’ was considered an illness but now that we have a better understanding of how the mind works, it’s easier to see that it has much more to do with what’s going on emotionally and in the mind. (And as cravings are 90% psychological, this makes a lot of sense.)
In my experience of working with clients who have alcohol issues, I’ve found that circumstances from their past have created an unconscious belief in the power of alcohol as an answer to their problems.
Whether alcohol is initially seen as a source of fun and bonding with friends, an escape from difficult emotions or circumstances, or is used as a way of alleviating a lack of self-confidence, the early experiences (and emotions) related to alcohol can often forge a deep-seated belief-pattern and connection to it that can continue through the years, either as a coping mechanism for dealing with stress, or as an alternative to facing and dealing with life’s circumstances.
Happily, this unhelpful pattern that has evolved into alcohol abuse or dependency can be gently interrupted and released, usually within just a small number of my bespoke Cognitive Hypnotherapy sessions.
My sessions are highly effective because, very importantly, Cognitive Hypnotherapy works simultaneously with both the conscious and subconscious mind.
Which means that the new learning and insights gained within each session are able to be embedded and accessed by the part of our mind that needs it most – the subconscious mind (which directs our emotions and habits on a daily basis, and is in control of us more than 95% of the time).
“Re-wiring” and updating the subconscious mind is key in order to change an entrenched pattern around alcohol.
And this is really good news because it means that positive changes can be experienced from your very first appointment. My therapy sessions are relaxed, insightful and empowering, and we work together to help you achieve the changes you want in the way you want them, at a pace that is right for you.
You can change and re-define your relationship to alcohol more easily than you might think, usually in just a small number of sessions (which have been described to me by clients as illuminating, empowering, thought-provoking and even fun 😊)
